Yelena Gerasimova

Movement has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember.

I trained professionally in ballet and performed with the Opera and Ballet Theatre. Years of dance gave me a deep understanding of movement, discipline, and the body, but also brought injuries, particularly to my back and knees.

Later, after moving to Dubai and raising two children, my back and neck problems became more severe. When surgery was recommended for two protruding cervical discs, I began searching for an alternative. That search led me to Classical Pilates.

I started practicing with Brian Ward, one of the pioneers who introduced Pilates to Dubai. What began as a way to restore my own body became a passion and, eventually, a new professional path.
I completed the Advanced Teacher Training Program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, with more than 900 hours of comprehensive education under Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel. As part of my ongoing professional development, I am also furthering my studies in the Romana’s Pilates tradition.

I have since taught Pilates in Dubai, including at Emirates Golf Club, helping clients develop strength, mobility, better posture, and greater body awareness.

Today, my teaching combines my background in professional ballet, extensive Classical Pilates education, and personal experience of recovery. My goal is to help people understand their bodies, move with confidence, and build strength that supports them in everyday life.
